Hey, I’m Madison (she/her). I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor based in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
My counselling approach is holistic, person-centered, anti-oppressive, and strengths-based. I value the trauma-informed approach and actively embrace and integrate it into my practice, focusing on safety, voice and choice, collaboration, trustworthiness, and empowerment in your healing journey.
Before becoming a Counselling Therapist, I held several positions including a Peer Supporter, Sexual Violence Educator, Crisis Responder, Youth Worker, and Family Visit Supervisor. I have supported people in post-secondary settings, group homes, shelters, and addiction recovery programs. Outside of NeverMind Counselling, I work as a therapist at a non-profit organization and Child Advocacy Centre for folks who have experienced personal violence and trauma.
We can work together to address your worries and fears, trouble sleeping, work or school stress, confidence, experiences of being marginalized, motivation, and more. If you have experienced trauma, I can assist you in understanding it’s impact and support you in changing any unhelpful beliefs and coping mechanisms you may have learned to feel safe.
I offer in-person sessions in Medicine Hat, Alberta which are held at my office space in Sanare Centre. I also offer virtual sessions to individuals residing in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.
